Das Neue Hauner childrens hospital is surrounded by the extense park landscape and part of the patient garden of the clinic. A roof top garden is placed on top of a flat, two-storey building as a continiuation of the patient garden. Above is the roff garden storey and four lean, north-south oriented building blocks. The careful placements of volumes creates buildsvisual connections between patients and the north garden and public green space south of the park landscape. The design of the roof landscape creates healing gardens for therapy and relaxation for patients and staff. The green space thus acts overall as important support for the recovery process. He also contributes to a high quality of work and forms a defining identifying feature for Das Neue Hauner - as a parent-child center for Munich.
